Everything you need to know about microbiota tests
The Essential Test uses 16S sequencing to get a general overview of the bacteria present. The Advanced Test uses shotgun metagenomics, allowing analysis of not only which microorganisms are present, but also what functions they are performing.
Compare both tests
The Essential gives a first view and goes as far as foods. The Advanced analyses far more and adds prebiotics, probiotics and supplements.
